Scholarship Eligibility
Eligibility Requirements • Since these scholarships are funded by the Nebraska District UPCI Revival Fund, applicants must be born-again, active members of a Nebraska United Pentecostal Church. • The applicant must be enrolled (or will be enrolled) in an institution of higher learning (University, College, Trade School) • The applicant must either be enrolled in either the fall or spring semester and show proof in order to receive funds. • The institution does not have to be a Bible School (College), but if it is, it must be a UPCI endorsed Bible College. • $500 remit per approved application • Applications must be received by a District Board member by midnight March 31st of each year. • An applicant may apply each year that they will be enrolled in higher education. • You can apply once per year • While this scholarship offers a one-time payment, returning students may apply each year they are in school. • To reapply, the entire application process must be repeated, and a GPA of 3.00 maintained. Application Deadline • Applications must be received by a Nebraska District UPCI Board member by midnight March 31st of each year. Awarding and Disbursements • The approved applicants will be announced at the Nebraska Conference each year. • Each approved applicant will be awarded a one-time disbursement of $500.00 paid directly to the institution. • The scholarship funds will be paid by check and mailed to the institution on August 1 of the year the applicant was approved. Applicant’s Responsibility • Each applicant must complete their portion of the application. • Each applicant must submit a recent color photo of themselves. • Each applicant must write, in their own words, an essay on how their intended education will enable and empower them to greater ministry, with a minimum of 750-words. • Each applicant must engage with their employer and ensure they complete the required Employer Reference Form. • Each applicant must engage with their Pastor and ensure they complete the required Pastor Reference Form. • Each applicant must engage with their one of their current instructors and ensure they complete the required Scholastic Reference Form.
